Brattleboro, Vermont – March 17, 2021: Vermont independent publisher, Green Writers Press, is honored to present Beyond Denial, a collection of essays by Vermont based minister and writer Anthony Acheson. Acheson’s collected essays envision a spirituality for our time that is life-affirming and inclusive, intellectually viable and socially responsible. The author, an ordained minister, integrates Judeo-Christian insights with the rich resources of many world religions and wisdom-streams. He emphasizes the centrality of consciousness in spiritual practice, through fostering experiential awareness of our inherent inner Divinity. And he stresses the importance of consciously perceiving—and moving beyond denial of—whatever dysfunctional patterns may plague us individually or in society.

Beyond Denial emphasizes a spirituality based in personal and communal responsibility that necessarily begins with doing the inner work of self-awareness and self-transformation. He maneuvers between political events and spiritual questions, pushing the reader to understand the relevance of spirituality in both their individual and public choices. In a world deeply divided and polarized, Rev. Acheson’s advocacy of a unifying and healing spiritual consciousness is as relevant as ever.
